Czann’s is an upcoming brewery from Nashville, Tennessee. For the logo and business card I was asked to create something that would have an artistic feel to it. I decided to work completely with hand-printed linoleum as a way to create a unique identity for the brand, while referencing Paul Cezanne’s work. The logotype itself is completely hand-drawn and carved to suggest a signature. The label designs were created to work with the initial identity. The names of the beers fit in with the art theme by co-ordinate with the type of brew: Yellow is a blonde, Red is an amber, and Blue is a pale ale. The package was designed as something that is unique and fits within the textural and aesthetic qualities of the brand.Graphic Design, Packaging, Illustration2011 -
Series of book covers re-designed for a boxed-set. Design of the series ties all the books together through the concept of dehumanization, which is at the core of each novel. The cropping of the photographs taken from a television screen taps into the idea of government control. Typographic system was based off of the science-fiction nature of the books.Graphic Design, Packaging2011 -
Calendar features a historical or cultural fact that corresponds with each given day of the year. To present a level of interactiveness and to teach something new each day, the information needs a decoder to read the text and keep track of each day.Graphic Design, Typography2011 -
Poster and catalog designed for an exhibition of Bruce Conner’s work at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The design references his work by creating a typographic structure based on some of the underlying geometric designs he uses in his line drawings. The design is based on his ideas around constant eye motion and the geometric design structures he would frequently use. Typeface design is based off of his work to complement it and give the poster and catalog an overall clean and modern look.Graphic Design, Typography, Publishing2011 -
